Personnel Visibility to Other Users
By default every user in the Resgrid system can see every other user. But you can use the "Who can view users" permission to change the behavior. You can change this behavior by accessing the "Security & Permissions" option from the Department Menu if you are the Account Owner or a Department Admin.
Then going down to the "Who can view users" row.
The combination of the Drop down, Lock to Group checkbox and Select Roles multi-select control will allow you to fine tune who other users can see in the system.

On September 1st 2024 we re-enabled this permission after a complete re-work of it's underlying system. If around that time your users are not seeing other users in the system it most likely isn't a system issue, but you set the permission up previously when it was disabled on the backend. Please check the permission and ensure it's setup how you would like.

Note: The Department's Account Owner (defacto Department Administrator) can always see all users.
Changing Permissions
Once you change permissions by changing the drop down selection, Lock To Group checkbox or Roles a backend job will be scheduled and permissions will be calculated and populated for your department. Depending on the volume of requests the system is currently processing this operation could take minutes or hours.

If there is an error or the Permissions Matrix is empty the system will "Fail Open" where all users will get the default behavior; Everyone can see Everyone. If that happens you will need to schedule another background sync operation by changing the permission again.
Issues with Personnel Visibility
If you encounter an area in the system where Users can see other users please open a ticket so we can investigate. Resgrid is a complex system and possible that an area or call/function was missed. Once reported we will investigate and fix the issue if it needs to be resolved. Some areas of the systems (like Messages) will allow all users to see each other, this is intentional to allow communications at a minimum and messages are secured by other permissions if you don't want that behavior.
